overview

The direct-entry Master in Architecture + Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering dual-degree program can be completed in six years. Not only will you be eligible for professional licensure as a civil engineer after completing the program; with an architecture degree accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board, you’ll also be positioned to become a licensed architect.

Additionally, you will have the option to jointly earn the Bachelor of Science in Architecture + Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in five years.

Why LTU?

The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program is the only civil engineering program in Michigan and one of just a few in the U.S. that adopted and received accreditation based on the American Society of Civil Engineering’s Body of Knowledge for the 21st Century, 2nd Edition (BOK2) and Vision for 2025.

The University(s) role as a leading research center with state-of-the-art facilities enables you to become involved in applied research projects and gives you access to cutting-edge concepts and the latest technologies.

The dual degree curriculum offers a broad understanding of the technical, aesthetic, economic, and social aspects of design and construction, positioning you as a valuable contributor who will be attractive to a wide spectrum of employers.

An emphasis on sustainability and environmental, health, safety, and welfare concerns will expose you to some of the most pressing issues facing today’s engineers and architects.

A focus on teamwork and communication provides excellent preparation for the realities of today’s collaborative workplace.
