LTU(s) mechanical engineering program is built around a core curriculum in manufacturing, mechanical systems, and thermal science. In this program, you will learn how products are designed, manufactured, and tested, as well as the basics of mechanisms and structures, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and energy conversion. You can choose from six concentrations: alternative energy, automotive, manufacturing, nanotechnology, solid mechanics, and thermal fluids, and can further augment your preparation by pursuing minors in aeronautical engineering or energy engineering. Since many consumer products are electromechanical in nature, a mechatronics sequence is also included.
