Adler University
520 Seymour St, Vancouver, BC V6B 3J5, Canada

We welcome you to Adler University with a single word that describes the teachings and practice of Alfred Adler’s groundbreaking concept of social interest: Gemeinschaftsgefu?hl! Translated, it means our health resides within our community life and connections. It is an idea that demands action that is needed now, more than ever. To shine a light on injustice and drive the work that leads to much needed change in some of our most challenged communities. Our mission is to prepare practitioners to address the world’s alarming health inequities and social injustices. Adler University puts boots on the ground where they are needed most – as scholars, activists, practitioners, and mentors. Adlerian practitioners bring needed change to the communities they call home.

Adler University’s Master of Counselling Psychology: Art Therapy program prepares students to work as counsellors, art therapists, and educators in a leading-edge field that combines the arts and psychology to improve physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Our unique degree offering trains graduates to be socially responsible practitioners who work with both words and images to treat individuals facing trauma, stress, and other life transitions. The innovative program aligns with the requirements set forth by the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association to become a Registered Clinical Counsellor in the province of British Columbia or a Canadian Certified Counsellor in Canada. It is also designed to meet the registered art therapist requirements of the British Columbia Art Therapy Association, the Canadian Art Therapy Association, the American Art Therapy Credentials Board, and the American Art Therapy Association.
