If you've completed study at university level in the UK or your home country you may be eligible to enter directly into Year 2 or 3 of a related degree course at ARU. Find out more about transferring to ARU.

Standard English requirements

The minimum requirements for most of our degrees are provided in the table below. Some of our courses have higher requirements, so please visit the course page you are interested in to check the specific English requirement.

Undergraduate courses

  • IELTS (Academic)
    • Overall 6.0 with 5.5 in each of the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) 
  • TOEFL iBT
    • 80 overall with 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking
  • Pearson PTE Academic
    • 60 overall with 59 in each of the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing)
