Wilmington University is a private university with its main campus in Wilmington Manor, Delaware, with a New Castle street address. It was founded in 1968 as Wilmington College by educator Donald E. Ross.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

The Wilmington University undergraduate degree program in Computer Science prepares students for some of the most innovative and essential fields in todays growing information economy.  With technical knowledge in the principal areas of study including computer programming, computer network, information security, web applications, and artificial intelligence, students will learn to solve real-life problems involving the design, development, support and management of hardware, software, multimedia and systems integration services. Students who successfully complete this degree are prepared for work in the computer technology industry, developing commercial and industrial applications or computer models.

  • A minimum GPA of 3.25
  • Completion of at least 60 credits towards your degree program
  • A meeting with an academic advisor to submit an Accelerated Option Intent (AOI) form upon completion of at least 30 credits; and
  • Recommendation of the Program Chair

Note:  Students will not be eligible to register for graduate level courses until they have successfully completed at least 60 credits towards their bachelors degree and have an approved AOI form.  Students must receive their B.S. degree in order to receive the graduate certificate.

Completed Undergraduate Application with a $35 application fee

All applications for admission are valid only for the semester for which you apply. If you would like to change the semester in which you intend to begin classes, a deferral request can be submitted within the Admissions portalLearn more about the deferral process.

Official Transcripts from any schools you have attended

Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary schooling, such as trade and career schools, community colleges, and other universities. A high school diploma with a graduation date or GED is required for students transferring fewer than 15 credits.

RN-to-BSN Majors: Please submit a copy of your RN License

Your unencumbered RN license must be uploaded to your Admissions Portal

Pre-RN: Once licensure has been achieved, please upload a copy of the unencumbered RN license to the Admissions Portal to enroll in BSN core nursing courses.

SAT/ACT Scores are not required, but may exempt you from taking the English and math placement assessments. NOTE: SAT/ACT scores are required if you will be joining an athletic program.

An admissions essay is not required.

Applying for admission as an F-1 visa applicant is a multi-step process.  Your Designated School Official (DSO) will provide you with information and assistance throughout this process. Application and required documents must be received by the following deadlines:

Fall Semester Applicants by July 31 
Spring Semester Applicants by November 30 
Summer Semester Applicants by March 31

Once you submit all the required documents and any additional program requirements, you will be issued a Form I-20 within seven business days.

With your Form I-20, you will pay the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee. After the issuance of Form I-20 and payment of the SEVIS fee, you will need to schedule a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy with the jurisdiction over your location. Once granted the F-1 Student Visa, you can enter the U.S. up to thirty (30) days prior to the program start date on your Form I-20.
