The University of Arizona (Arizona, U of A, UArizona, or UA) is a public land-grant research university in Tucson, Arizona, United States. Founded in 1885 by the 13th Arizona Territorial Legislature, it was the first university in the Arizona Territory. The University of Arizona is one of three universities governed by the Arizona Board of Regents. As of Fall 2023, the university enrolled 53,187 students in 19 separate colleges/schools, including the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson along with the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix and the James E. Rogers College of Law. The university is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity". UA also is a member of the Association of American Universities. The University of Arizona is affiliated with two academic medical centers, Banner – University Medical Center Tucson and Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. Known as the Arizona Wildcats (often shortened to "Cats"), the UA's intercollegiate athletic teams were members of the Pac-12 Conference of the NCAA. The university joined the Big 12 Conference on August 2, 2024.[8] UA athletes have won national titles in several sports, most notably men's basketball, baseball, and softball.

International Students - Tests of English Proficiency
International applicants are required by the UA Graduate College to submit a TOEFL score of 79 on the iBT test. 

For students who take the IELTS examination, an overall score of 7 is required, with a score of no less than 6 on any individual band or module.  TOEFL and IELTS test scores must be dated within two years of the year of enrollment. 

Students may be requested to enter the Center for English as a Second Language to improve their verbal skills.

The deadline is the date by which you must e-submit your application to SOPHAS and have all supporting documents (letters of recommendation, transcripts, test scores, etc.) into SOPHAS.  The UA Graduate College application must be submitted before your SOPHAS application will be reviewed.
