Woodbury University is a private university in Burbank, California. Founded in 1884 with initial campuses in Downtown and Central Los Angeles, Woodbury University is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Southern California.

Master of Business Administration

With our Merit Scholarships, we provide an affordable private-school MBA with a work-compatible and practice-based curriculum. All students with business or non-business undergraduate degrees are invited to apply. Students with an undergraduate business degree can complete the MBA in one year as a full-time student. Step 1: International Graduate - Apply

WOODBURY APPLICATION

In order to process your application, all sections must be complete, including submission of required admissions documents uploaded through the page.

Woodbury University is a member of The Architecture Centralized Application Service (ArchCAS), a marketplace for prospective architecture students to research participating architecture programs and apply to as many participating Master’s in Architecture programs as they desire with one application portal.

Step 2: International Graduate - Transcripts

Submit certified English translation of all non-English documents along with official transcripts. Woodbury University will complete a course-by-course foreign credential evaluation from a NACES-approved organization.

Electronic Submission
Woodbury Application – Upload unofficial transcripts to the Woodbury Application, or submit official transcripts via Parchment, Naviance and The National Clearinghouse.

Mail Submission
Official transcripts through mail submission, must include an original signature of the school official(s) and be sealed in an unopened envelope. Transcripts should be mailed to:

Step 3: International Graduate - English Proficiency

Provide proof of English proficiency by submitting one of the following test scores taken within two years of the date of application.

  • TOEFL IBT 80
  • IELTS 6.5
  • DUOLINGO 105
  • ITEP 3.9
  • PTE Academic 58
  • TOEFL Essentials 8.5

OR

  • Completion of a transferable English composition course (non-ESL) with a grade of “C” or better from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited U.S. high school
  • Completion of an accredited English-language program with the highest proficiency level from the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), or the American Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET)
  • Students graduating from secondary or post-secondary schools where English is the language of instruction will automatically be reviewed for a waiver of this requirement.
  • Transfer students who have completed college coursework in the U.S must have completed a transferable English course or have 24 credit hours of credit-bearing academic study at an accredited university to be eligible for an English proficiency waiver.

Step 4: International Graduate - Letters of Recommendation

Submit two professional and/or academic letters of recommendation.

Step 5: International Graduate - Personal Statement

School of Business

Electronically submit a two-or-three-page essay via our online application system describing your qualifications for acceptance into the MBA program. Address your leadership potential, motivational aptitude, and career goals. Discuss how Woodbury’s MBA will assist you in accomplishing your goals.

School of Architecture

Electronically submit a one-or-two-page essay via our online application that describes your educational and/or professional background, and your reason for pursuing a graduate architectural education at Woodbury’s School of Architecture.

Master of Science Architecture ONLY
Research Statement

Submit a one-or-two-page essay outlining your specific area(s) of interest and identifying any faculty members you feel could serve as an advisor for your work. We are only able to accommodate students whose research interests match that of a faculty member who is able to serve as an advisor.

Step 6: International Graduate - Professional Resume

Electronically submit a professional resume or curriculum vitae via our online application system. This information should list your academic research, professional experience, and/or published works.

Step 7: International Graduate - Portfolio

School of Architecture

All graduate design applicants are required to submit a portfolio of creative work conveying the scope of their design sensibilities when applying for the Master of Architecture (M.Arch.), Master of Interior Architecture (M.I.A.), Master of Landscape Architecture (M.L.A.), Master of Science in Architecture (M.S.Arch.), and Master of Science in Architecture, Real Estate Development (M.S.Arch. RED) programs.

Step 8: International Graduate - Form I-20 Documentation

A Form I-20 is generated after applicant has accepted the offer of admission by submitting their nonrefundable commitment deposit along with the following documentation:

  • Passport – Submit a copy of applicants’ passport, along with that of any dependents who will apply for an F-2 visa.
  • Bank Statement – Bank Statement issued no earlier than 6 months from enrollment date. Optional at the time of application submission. Financial support must be sufficient to cover student expenses for one full academic year. Bank statements must be original, and on letterhead from a checking, savings, or time deposit account. Brokerage (stock funds), real estate, or any other non-liquid assets are not acceptable. All bank statements must be in English and in U.S. dollar currency or its foreign equivalence. An Affidavit of Support is required for any document which is not in the name of the applicant.

I-20 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SPONSOR FORM

  • Transfer I-20 Form – The Transfer I-20 Form is only required for applicants who are currently in the United States with an F-1 visa granted by another institution.

TRANSFER I-20 FORM

Submission of falsified documentation will result in admission denial or termination after enrollment.
