Marist College is a private university in Poughkeepsie, New York. Founded in 1905, Marist was formed by the Marist Brothers, a Catholic religious institute, to prepare brothers for their vocations as educators. By 1969, the college had become private with a predominantly lay board of trustees and in 2003, the Catholic Church recognized Marist as a secular institution.

Through the MS in Information Systems at Marist, you can fill a growing need for professionals in the workforce with skills in both technical and managerial areas. The MS in Information Systems offers three distinct concentrations that allow our students to focus their degree experience specifically on their career goals.

Interested in a graduate technology degree but not ready to commit to the full degree? Marist offers two advanced certificates in Business Analytics and Information Systems that can help you get started. Each certificate:

Is only 12-18 credits

Is offered both online and on-ground

Does not require prior knowledge of analytics of information systems

Transfers directly into the full MSIS degree

MSIS Admission Requirements

You have put a lot of thought into making the decision to apply. Make sure you don’t forget the details!

How to Apply

All applications for admission will be processed through a centralized application service for graduate programs (GradCAS).  An undergraduate degree in information systems is not required in order to apply to this program.  

You will create an account via the online application portal (preferred browsers are Google Chrome or Firefox).  If you encounter any issues, please contact our technical support at 857-304-2086 or via email [email protected]

  • Term – summer, fall or spring
  • Institution – Marist College
  • Program – MS in Information Systems

A Complete Application in GradCAS includes the following:

  • Unofficial transcript from bachelor’s degree-granting college/university must be uploaded to the application for an admission decision.  Official bachelor’s degree noted transcript will be required upon acceptance in order to matriculate.
    • Electronic official transcripts will be accepted through Credentials SolutionsNational Clearinghouse, or Parchment. Be sure to enter Marist College as the recipient

  • Current resume 
  • Personal statement of about 750 words outlining career objective(s), the reason(s) for selecting Marist’s MSIS program, desired specialization, and your personal and professional expectations from the program
  • A prerequisite course in Statistics is required to apply for this program. If you choose the Computer Networks and Security concentration you will also have an Internetworking prerequisite course.
  • Nonrefundable $50 application fee

International Applicants:

In addition to the above-listed requirements, international applicants must also submit the following:

  • Students from India, Nepal, or Pakistan are required to have First Class graduation with minimal backlogs.
    Usually this is a CGPA of 60% or higher, or GPA of 3.0/4.0 or 7/10
    • Upload all semester memos, consolidated marksheet, and provisional certificate
  • Students outside of the United States, India, Nepal, or Pakistan require a Course-by-Course degree evaluation from any of the companies found here
  • Proof of English proficiency is required for students who earned a Bachelor’s degree outside of the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, or countries in Africa where English is the primary language. Scanned scores are accepted for applications. 
    • Minimum accepted scores are: Duolingo 115, IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 79, or PTE 58
      (Duolingo is online. IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE exams must be taken at test centers.

  • Nonrefundable $38 USD application fee
