Marist College is a private university in Poughkeepsie, New York. Founded in 1905, Marist was formed by the Marist Brothers, a Catholic religious institute, to prepare brothers for their vocations as educators. By 1969, the college had become private with a predominantly lay board of trustees and in 2003, the Catholic Church recognized Marist as a secular institution.

Not only will you be learning Data Science and Analytics from experienced faculty, but you’ll be learning from experts who are respected and recognized within the field. For example, Prof. Eitel Lauría has worked in the IS/IT industry for 20+ years, serving as a technology consultant to IBM, Microsoft, ExxonMobil, Reuters, Hewlett Packard, GE Global Research, and the World Bank among other global corporations. Having published his research in data science, business intelligence, predictive analytics, and statistical machine learning, Professor Lauría even presented research at the LatinX in AI Workshop at the International Conference on Machine Learning.

  • A completed transfer application

  • Provide a list of courses currently in progress and include the course numbers (e.g., ENG100)
  • English Proficiency Exam results if you are a non-native English-speaking student. Marist accepts the TOEFL or the IELTS. Marist accepts the TOEFL, IELTS, or the Duolingo English Test.
    Note: The English Proficiency Exam result requirement can be waived for students who have met any of the following criteria:
    • Completed an International Baccalaureate Diploma
    • Attained a minimum score of 500 on the SAT Critical Reading or Writing section
    • Attended a U.S. or international school taught in English for a minimum of four years without any English as a Second Language courses
    • Completed one academic year studying at a United States college or university
    • TOEFL - Students must submit a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam or a 213 on the computer based TOEFL or an 80 on the Internet-based TOEFL exam
    • IELTS - Students must submit a minimum score of 6.5
      Note: All test scores must come directly from the Testing Service to Marist College. The Marist report code is 2400. Scores must be less than two years old from the first day of class of the proposed term of entry.
    • Duolingo English Test- Students must submit a minimum score of 115
  • Official United States high school/secondary school transcripts if applicable and/or official translated high school/secondary school transcripts of all foreign academic credentials (examination results and grade reports)
  • Official United States college or university transcripts if applicable and/or an official translation and credit evaluation of all foreign college or university credentials (examination results and grade reports)
  • Official results of the SAT or ACT exam if you want the Admission Committee to consider your scores (Marist is test optional)
  • A $50 non-refundable application fee

Students must submit their completed application no later than the appropriate deadline. Accepted students will receive a letter of admission and an enrollment form. Once an accepted student submits an enrollment deposit, an I-20 form that enables the student to apply for an F-1 Student Visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate will be mailed.
