Freshman International Applicants
1. Review Admission Requirements
You are considered a freshman applicant if you have completed secondary school and have not previously enrolled at any college or university. Please note certain majors have additional requirements to be admitted directly into the academic program. Review our major pages to see if there are any additional requirements. Students who are admitted to the university are not guaranteed admission to a specific academic program.

Meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements (see tab section below)

SAT/ACT
|
SAT/ACT scores are optional for admission consideration. Students who have taken the SAT or ACT are encouraged to submit their scores directly from the testing agency.

2. Submit Admission Application
Submit an application either through ApplyTexas or Common App. Please submit only one application per term. Students interested in a fully online degree program should apply through UTSA Online.

3. Pay Application Fee
You can pay your fee when applying or after you submit your application through the myUTSA Admissions portal. After we receive your application, you will get an email from UTSA to activate your myUTSA Account which will allow you to log in to your myUTSA Admissions portal. Once logged in, find your application under “My Admission Applications.” Click on the orange “Pay Application Fee” button. Select your payment method and follow the instructions. Once you’ve made your payment, you can select the “Return to myUTSA Admissions” button to return to the portal.
Pay Fee by Check or Money Order
If you prefer to pay via check or money order, you can make it out to “The University of Texas at San Antonio”. Please include applicant’s full name and date of birth so the payment matches the correct application. It can be mailed to the following address:

Fee Waivers
Fee waivers are not available for international freshman applicants.
4. Send Test Scores from Testing Agency
Send the appropriate TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic, iTEP Academic or Cambridge C1 Advanced scores directly from the testing agency. See the tab section below for scores that meets the UTSA’s English Language Proficiency requirement.
5. Submit Transcript / Academic Documentation
All documents must have an official English translation. See the tab below for additional information.
Additionally, each country requires specific documentation when applying to UTSA and all submitted documents must be translated into English: North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania.
