Master of Science in Mathematics

The University of Arizona offers a Master of Arts (M.A.) and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mathematics. Both two-year programs prepare you for careers in industry and teaching at secondary schools, community colleges and four-year universities. There is a particular M.A. pathway that is designed for training in Math Education. The M.S. pathway requires more advanced mathematics courses. You will gain a solid knowledge in core mathematics and the skills to create, teach and apply mathematics in a multitude of settings. Both the M.A. and M.S. programs can serve as the base for a subsequent Ph.D.
