Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science

Forensic science simply refers to the use of sciences to examine physical evidence in criminal cases. Many fields have a forensic subdiscipline (e.g., forensic accounting, forensic anthropology). Forensic biology plays a vital role in the criminal justice system by providing scientifically-based information through the analysis of biological evidence. Our forensic biology major will provide you with an educational, ethical and scientific background needed to pursue careers such as:

  • Forensic DNA Analyst
  • Forensic Analyst of Blood and Body Fluids
  • Crime Scene Investigator
  • Pattern Analyst (e.g., Fingerprints, Blood Stain Patterns)
  • Death Investigator
  • Autopsy Technician
  • Medical Lab Technician
  • Research Scientist (private sector and government)

Our program also prepares students for graduate studies in fields such as:

  • Medicine

The forensic biology major was built upon the rigorous accreditation specifications of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. It is designed for students who enjoy biology and are pursuing a career that relies on biological knowledge. Apply

Apply for admission through either the University's Application Portal or by submitting the Common Application. Be sure to fill out the application completely, as it will be used to determine admissibility. Once an application has been started, you will be able to save your progress and continue any time until you have all the information entered to be able to submit your application.
Application Fees

There is a $75 non-refundable application fee to apply to the University of Findlay. 

​Application Deadlines

The University of Findlay has rolling admission, so there are no defined application deadlines.  However, in order to ensure the appropriate amount of time for the University to review your application, process your I-20, and leave enough time for visa interviews and travel arrangements, we do ask that you apply as early as possible.
 

  • Spring Application Deadline – November 10​
  • Fall Application Deadline – June 20

Required Documents

Transcripts: Original and official credentials showing completion of required secondary school work, or work completed to the final year of study. A certified English translation and the original credential in the foreign language are required.

If you are an undergraduate student applying for a second bachelor's degree, you need to provide credentials showing completion and awarding of a bachelor's degree.

Track Your Application​

Your application will be evaluated once we receive a completed application ​and all required documentation. The status of your application can be tracked he​re.

What do I need to submit in order to receive my Form I-20 and admissions package?

  • Passport.
  • Bank statement proving the capability to pay tuition, mandatory fees, and room & board for one year. 
  • Pay your $500 deposit. This deposit is non-refundable, but will be credited back to your Findlay student account and will go toward your tuition costs once you are officially enrolled in classes​

Things to Remember

  • The University of Findlay does not require nor do we review personal essays or letters of recommendation.
  • Scholarships will be awarded at the point of admittance based on your GPA.​ ACT/SAT scores are not required for admission.​
  • ​Remember to answer the University of Findlay specific questions in the Common Application
