Includes instruction in accounting principles and theory, financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, budget control, tax accounting, legal aspects of accounting, auditing, reporting procedures, statement analysis, planning and consulting, business information systems, accounting research methods, professional standards and ethics, and applications to specific for-profit, public, and non-profit organizations.

Studying Accounting at the University of Cincinnati prepares students for careers in public and corporate accounting through a rigorous course of study. The bachelor's program provides many students with the opportunity to intern or co-op with varying sizes of public accounting firms or with the accounting department of a company or organization. The master's program covers all the material typically tested on the CPA exam to best prepare students for success. In addition, UC also offers programs in Accounting Technology, intended to quickly prepare students to become paraprofessionals in the accounting field.

The University of Cincinnati offers undergraduate and graduate program options, including the MS. Graduates of these UC programs can find career opportunities in public and/or corporate accounting anywhere from national/international public accounting to financial services firms.
