Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering

Aerospace Engineering prepares individuals to apply mathematical and scientific principles to the design, development and operational evaluation of aircraft, missiles, space vehicles, and their systems; applied research on flight and orbital characteristics; and the development of systems and procedures for the launching, guidance, and control of air and space vehicles.

Studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati helps students become strong candidates in the Aerospace field. UC is home to the second-oldest Aerospace Engineering program in the country. In the BS program, students gain hands-on training in the fields of fluid mechanics, propulsion, structures, controls, and electronics while taking courses that cover the analysis and design of aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, rockets and satellites. While in the MS & PhD program, graduate students pursue research in the areas of dynamics and control, fluid mechanics, propulsion systems, and solids and structures. The MEng program culminates on building skills and expertise to enhance the individual’s ability to contribute to the technical workforce rather than academic research. UC also offers associate Pre-Engineering programs, with students being able to transfer into a bachelor's program upon completion with a full year of study.

The University of Cincinnati offers undergraduate and graduate program options, including the MEng, MS & PhD. Students are encouraged to develop their skills and build their resumes through co-op programs at companies such as NASA, General Electric, Gulfstream Aerospace, TECT Aerospace, and the U.S Air Force Research Laboratory.
